This should be handled by the installer so no idea, why you don't have it registered at all... Just checked the installer part responsible for that, it is identical for RH 5,6,7 and 8 (no typos or other errors) so should work as expected without any issues... It's weird as if I reinstall even on top of existing version R8 shows me window 'Preparing plugin for first use'...

NOTE: To solve it the quickest possible way in Rhino > Options > Plugins hit the Install button and find RN rhp this should do the work, which for some reason wasn't(rly?) done by the installer...

When I switch to .NET Framework mode, RN can be installed, but the software crashes as soon as I use gh.The symptoms feel the same as the previous version 1.03

MobaiLin Still I don't know which Rhino version it is... so far I can see this is Win 11, maybe some system info from Rhino? GH? How's that? If you are running RH8 in .NETFramework, and RN crashes it, but RN works in RH7 which is natively .NETFramework, then I guess it is time to start sending questions to McNeel, TBH I'm already frustrated with facing RH 8 issues which is completely unpredictable and seem to be prematurely released, while each time it is like working with fragile nitroglycerin.

To work further with your particular case please go to the Logs folder C:\ProgramData\Doliwa Workshop\Rhino Nature\1.0\Logs and send those logs via support email, include also Rhino info from _SystemInfo data, plus hit WIN+R shortcut type in cmd and in cmd systeminfo. With this data, I'll be able to reconstruct at least part of the environment to replicate this problem. Almost forgot, please include also GH version.

In addition, to be entirely clear all the below screens show the newest RN running under RH 8 in .NETCore :

So how it is even possible it fails to load under .NETFramework on your device?

There are still bugs in version 1.04, this error pop up when opening rhino8.

When installing manually, this pops up

It says still need .NET framework.

I think MobaiLin has the same problem as me. He may have installed RN manually after switching to .NETFramework, but he did not switch back to .NETCore after that, so RN will keep crashing.

slodka That's a bold statement on your side (I mean I rly put hard work into fitting it to .NETCore), though as anyone I also could fail, however, it's weird that I have already 30+ other the same versions confirmed working, so... It says, doesn't mean 'it is right' especially when we are talking about R8, I provided yesterday remote support to @MobaiLin and we had a clear picture that R8 in his case is malfunctioning.

Please send me the same data via support email I mentioned above, the recent log file, _SystemInfo, plus WIN+R -> cmd -> systeminfo , right after that I'll head directly to McNeel with details, so they can explain what is going on, as this is not normal that users with same builds can run it while others have issues even loading it.

So far the only inconsistency found was version of .NETCore - while 7.0.0 works, 7.0.9 seems to fail.

Plus, there's no need for GH infos as we checked that and GH fails even without RN onboard.

slodka Is the CPU AMD? Because my computer with Intel CPU has no problem and can run normally, but the computer with AMD does not.😂

@slodka @MobaiLin as I promised I took reports and went directly to McNeel, as a result (and as I suspected) the whole problem is related to Rhino, not RN, you can check all the details if you want here. At this point in time it does not resolve the issue, so probably the best bet will be to do a workaround until the raised issue is solved, I have an idea already but I have to test it first. AMD or Intel does not change a thing I was able to recreate it on a dual Xeon device.

D-W Yes, I tried to install it on three computers. The 3950x can work in netframework mode, but it cannot be loaded successfully in netcore mode. The 10900kf unit can run normally in both modes. In the past, the AMD computer that we assisted remotely would crash when using gh. I uninstalled all the plug-ins and the situation was still the same. Although I am confused, I think this is the same as your previous conclusion. It is a problem with Rhino itself or something related to it. Caused by cpu differences.Thank you for your efforts.😁

So far I don't see any moves on Rhino's side regarding the Compat tool, so I just made a workaround for failing devices, which will be auto-installed with the next update.
